There are flat platforms that lay between, and perpendicular to
  the grip handle and mounting pegs, forming a base and stop for
  the mounting pegs. The flat platforms butt up against the outside
  of the door when the handle is in place. The mounting peg extends
  back off the plaforms, then to the left on a 90 degree bend and
  into the side of the lockbar.
